Cool summer travel plans - 1970

I visited Sweden the summer of 1970 when I was 17 years old. I belonged to a group called "Suitcase Theater," and we toured Germany and Scandinavia performing, among other things, the work of Langston Hughes. Like now, it was a time when Americans as a group weren't too popular abroad (Vietnam war and all) but as individuals we were warmly welcomed. (In fact, I had a particularly warm welcome from one young man in Malmo but that's another story). I've been meaning to write and tell you what a fan I am (have been since I first heard you on NPR), and offer condolences on the loss of your pop. I have an amazing father, too - still with us at 86 - so your comments about your father were especially poignant for me.

All of that to say - I'm hoping my cool travel plans will someday include seeing you in performance in NYC when I am here visiting my son (also named Adam). I check your website often, so one day when one of my visits coincide with a local performance, I will introduce myself as proof that your music crosses boundaries, styles, world views, and ages.

(By the way, if someone invites you into their sauna, say yes.)
