Things That are no longer there no. 5 (factory records)- The Beatles - MOWO!
so,
It's been an interesting week. Im not gonna go into great detail. We had an amazing gig at NUBLU last monday night. That was lovely......was a nice surprise to see so many folks come out. So thank you for that.
Second.
I watched "JOY DIVISION" the documentary........pure genius on so many levels. Got really caught up in it actually. Im not even a huge fan of their music but the story was told so beautifully. The design look and feel were spot on and the story itself was very emotional and at times very funny.
Just , so damn well done, hats off.
I started watching the film of their story called "CONTROL" and I just couldnt stay awake so I'll watch it later...i have it on demand and can watch it tonight before 3 am, think I can handle that.
BUT........to continue the music theme here.
Im currently finally watching the beatles anthology on DVD and man.............JEEBUS..........10 hours of the greatest band of all time. SO fookin' nuts. Im only on volume 4 and its just totally riveting. Can't get enough of it.
The actual physical part of my week was wild. Went to Richmond Virginia.....nice little town. Im sure it doesnt like to be called a nice little town, but its a nice little town.
Got some sad news yesterday , an old friend and an old dear friend of my boy wolf , passed away. Mr Hiram Bullock. If you dont know who he is , he was the first guitar player in the David LEtterman show band and one of the most recorded session guitarists of all time. A genius musician and at the end of the day a really good guy. I had a weird start with him , but we ended up buddy'sand he was in fact at my birthday party this year and although he seemed in not the best of health was fun to hang with. I will miss him and I send my deepest condolences to his family.
Just a quiet weekend. On a lighter note my friend Julie Beth completed a half marathon that I helped her and her boyfriend train for a tiny little bit so Im very proud of her. Im gonna run it next year. I maxxed out this year with a 8 mile run. Which is not too bad , but my trips to Europe made it unsafe for me to attempt a 13.1 mile run, If I hadnt left the US 3 times in 7 weeks I would totally have killed that race and look forward to attempting it next year.
so , that's what we got folks. Just a quiet gray day here in NYC and Im watching Beatles documentaries on my couch in an apt desperately in need of cleaning. That will happen later on in the day.......everyone that knows me knows I cant stand clutter............drives me fucking batty!!!!!!
ok...........back to the beatles.........go and watch "JOY DIVISION" if you can, its on time warner cable throughout the country I think........dont expect to feel well at all when its over btw.
ok,
be well,
MOWO!™
p.s. fookin' bluesy as all get out today , please excuse the somber posting.
