PARIS DAY ONE......TWO sort of.........
Thursday, July 10, 2008so ,
up in the morning and straight to st pancras to catch the eurostar to paris.......I really love this trip. its quick and you arrive rght in the middle of paris and its one metro stop from my boy stephane's house. brilliant
I arrived, had a lovely hang with stephanes amazing partner Janet and then headed off to hang out with my morning jacket and watch them do a blazing gig.
I love the guys in that band so much , just such stellar individuals. Always a great hang and the great thing was, when the hell was I going to ever hang with them in PARIS?
Just was a perfect bit of scheduling.
so......we stayed literally......and I cant believe the coincidnce. but we stayed 200 feet from each other. They stayed at the holiday inn express on the quai de seine and I was like two buildings down from them. the coincidence of them staying in the same city was one thing, for them to be 2 doors down ..........my god........we hung out on the canal until like 3 am and just laughed and told stories and just had a great time.......all the guys, bo, patrick , jim , carl , tom.......just stellar guys and their crew guys are just as cool Totally been a highlight of this trip for me outside of the writing thats been getting done. Also , the support act on their tour is called Everest.....great fucking guys as well.........really enjoyed their company....so cheers to everest go out and buy their music RIGHT NOW.
Today ( which would technically be day two in paris) patrick and I just wandered around and found an amazing chocolatier..........we worked our way over to the Eiffel Tower and met up with the rest of the guys and then had a FOOKIN' epic walk of a journey to this restaurant ( 50 minutes with 11 other guys........some people were just exhausted....these guys have been touring their asses off over here under grueling conditions so they were really tired ) that seriously if you ever come to paris you have to eat at
its called "L'os A Moelle" and its in the 15th on a little street called Rue De Vasco De Gama......incredible stuff people.........seriously legendary.
so we ate an epic meal which we then found out was mostly made by a japanese kitchen staff. but it was mad crazy traditional french cuisine. Top notch stuff and at 60 euros.......a bargain in my book........wine , beer , top level food........classic day and hang with my boy patrick.
so thats what shaking, otherwise i am sick as a dog right now from writing so much while in london, but the work is coming along really well so have no fear. The MOWO! grooves are flowin' big time,
much love from europe.........paris style
be well,
MOWO!™
