R.I.P David Fathead Newman

One of the true giants of the tenor saxophone passed away today. Most of you know Fathead as the Tenor player in the classic Ray Charles band. He was also portrayed (unfairly I might add ) in the film "RAY" but this isn't about that so so at best film. This is about a great man. A great friend of both my father and my family and a great friend to music in general.
He will be missed. His contribution incredible in its scope is only second to his amazing gentlemanly manner and incredibly generous heart.
I had to the pleasure of working with David on a number of occasions and it was always a great time. He was a gentle man , with a big heart.
He played on the song "CHICK A BOOM BOOM BOOM" for me and it was one of the biggest thrills in my career to date.
Rest in peace david.

11. Tom Cruise
12. Mickey Rourke's newfound celebrity and the 4-5 films that are about to suck as a result
that's just the tip of the iceberg.
