I made this in 2002......I had the idea that STRIPES and FULL METAL JACKET were basically the same film. Obviously Im insane and WRONG. BUT.......well.......Im not. There are some amazingly similar scenes taken from "slightly" different perspectives.

I scored these originally as a commission for MASS MOCA and then i had the pleasure of playing this music onstage in LONDON , NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES as part of HAL WILLNERS "HARRY SMITH TRIBUTE" shows.

the second link is my first version of my NINA SIMONE "BLACKBIRD" remix , some of you know the version I did for ENTER THE MOWO!......this is TOTALLY different and was done basically live in one take ( well actually a couple of llive takes mixed together ) NOW I SOUND SNOTTY AND IM EXPLAINING MY "PROCESS" so......sorry. hahahaa anyway

CSI DID I HEAR WHAT I THOUGHT I HEARD!?

Yes, if you were watching CSI last night ( jan 22nd ) you did in fact hear my tune "TICKLE IT" during a scene where Forrest Whitaker did something with clues or someone's DNA or he was hanging out with Colonel Mustard in the library ( I've never seen CSI but isn't it CLUE™®© with better looking people? ).....I promise you , you did hear my tune. And I'm very happy for it.
Im psyched they used the tune the way they did.
it's a fun tune.

( and yes the same tune is currently being used as the theme to NPR's "ALL TECH CONSIDERED" , "TICKLE IT" is the little tune that could! )
