Very psyched about a couple of things....
Tuesday, March 30, 2004Im very psyched that a couple of MOWO! tunes are about to be in a theater near you and also on YOUR RADIO...
For starters.....a song from the last album "AURAL AND HEARTY" called "HEY BABY" is in the trailer for the new Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn film called "DODGEBALL" watch the trailer. The tune comes in right before and into the scene where Vince Vaughn is checking out the "cowboy aerobics" class.
ALSO.............more good MOWO! news. Seems like the folks at MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC are digging the new "Enter The MOWO!" album enough to lead off the show with "CHICK A BOOM BOOM BOOM" totally an enormous honor to have tunes from my little opus appear on the radio. THANK YOU MBE!!!!
Finally.......... "Chick a Boom Boom Boom" ( nice nod again for this tune ) is going to be featured in the new Jennifer Garner film called "13 going on 30"
Im totally stoked about these films using my music and the radio airplay because.....as an indy artist running my own label (with my lovely wife STACY and trusted side kick KEVIN!!)..............basically its near impossible to get exposure out there so you do what you have to do to get this music heard. ITS BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ON MTV or RADIO with this music.......so hats off to the folks who are digging and using it tastefully............
More fun stuff on the horizon BUT I dont wanna jinx any of it. Talk to you guys soon.

Monday, March 29, 2004O.K.....i rushed back to work today as we only have a couple of days left of mixing and.......................... low and behold...............................Im sitting here locked out of the studio.............Luckily I have my laptop with me and can share this insanely boring tale with all of you.......arent you happy that you checked in???....wow... when you type (shift-option-2) on a mac you get € ( euro symbol )..............now you really truly must be bored.
Sorry.....i suck...........must get more rest...must to sleep more

Sunday, March 28, 2004Marty and I finally got another day off during the making of the VHS OR BETA album today. I spent my day literally staring at the ceiling..........I am totally burnt. I know it's way early but remember this song title if you can "This Night On Fire" ......It's a dope track that Craig sings.
We work tomorrow and tuesday and then the mixing is "finished" ( Im sure we'll have a recall or two to deal with.)
I just did take a little time to watch the new episode of THE SOPRANOS and this awesome new show called DEADWOOD.....I love DEADWOOD........It's like a real mans-man soap opera.
Sorry I don't have anything real witty to say like....."I practiced Ukulele for three hours today" Or ...."I went fishing up at FISH LAKE ( non existent near NYC at least) with my sister Helen" ( I dont have a sister ).......I'm just really tired and looking to get a little bit of a break before my album comes out.
Also.............I might be getting the live thing together sooner than I thought for the MOWO! - BAND. May be doing a festival or two this summer.

Saturday, March 27, 2004So.....Craig and Mark (that mark) from VHS OR BETA asked me to come out last night after mixing and I was more than happy to oblige since they are a blast to hang out with.
We first went to see THE RAVEONETTES at PLAID. It was half of the band doing a "surprise" gig. I have to admit I didnt know their music at all before seeing them. I had a really good time.........got to hang with them for a minute after the show. Nice folks too.
I should add that back in the day I loved to go to every show imaginable but have since grown a little older. Im now fond of hanging out with my wife Stacy and my cat SWEETPEA. I also may have an unhealthy addiction to fantasy baseball and football......but thats another matter altogether.
Anyway.............................I digress...........................................
We then moved on to CentroFly and saw the CHEMICAL BROTHERS do a dj set..................fun stuff indeed. Needless to say I am really tired this morning and back to mixing the VHS OR BETA album with Marty ( uncle marty for those of you in the know ) This album is coming out really, really, really, nicely by the way.

In the next week or so the site is going to have some additions made to it. I am going to post :30 second snippets of every tune on the album with a brief description of what went down during the recording of it as well. I also want to post some remixes I've done lately. for you to hate/enjoy. I want you all to be able to get more of a sense of what the new album is about.
I have a video I made on Apples iMovie software in the download section that you may wanna checkout. It's for a song called "Right Now" and it was very fun to make. It shows many of my friends and family members, AND MY CAT SWEETPEA...( she also hapens to be a fifth degree black belt in TAE KWON DO.So back up sucka's )
The song is just a fun 1930's -ish trumpet driven groove. it features Steve Bernstein from the band Sex Mob.Who is a genius
Also I am very happy to announce that "Enter The MOWO!" will be added to Apples iTunes Music Store pretty darn close to the street date of the album ( April 6th ). The nice folks over at V2 Records have given me an online distribution deal. Im very excited about being part of what I think is the coolest development in music in years.
Sorry I have no funny stories this evening. Hopefully I'll come back tomorrow with something good and stupid for you.

NPR picked the new album ( "Enter The MOWO!" for those of you playing along at home ) as one of the most anticipated albums of this SPRING.....Im shocked and elated to be mentioned in the same breath as the other artists they've also deemed to be dope.

Here it goes...There is no sugar coating what I did today. It could be quite possibly the funniest thing thats ever happened to me and I am in no way whatsoever ashamed of how stupid I was when it happened.I must say in advance that certain family members of mine will site the "clicker incident of 1985" as the funniest thing but since they will be reading this along with the rest of you..........Quickly told.....I got maple syrup on the family's clicker/tv changer and decided to wash it in the sink.....Long story short..........I was laughed at at will whenever the chance came up.......This story will forever erase that nothing of an event.

I flushed my cell phone down the toilet by accident........What's that you say? Yes.....I flushed my cell phone down the toilet today.....
I was talking on the phone shortly before I decided to retreat to "le toilet" and I didn't place it in my pocket in the most secure way known to man........needless to say...............As I stood up I rocked the handle and at the same time heard a rather interesting noise......Yes friends the sound of my cell phone escaping down to "Ed Norton Lane".....Looked down to see my silver little cellular camera phone floating away from me..............Nice image eh?
well........nobody ever said I wasn't clumsy and basically stupid....Cell phone number three in the last 18 months literally down the drain!!!!

post number two already??? wow.....So i am working downtown in lovely nyc at JARVIS STUDIOS with a great band called VHS OR BETA. They are signed to ASTRALWERKS. My partner Marty and I are producing their first full length and boy......what a trip this has been............2 days off in the last month and about 15-18 hour work days. Its been worth it though. This record is coming out really nicely. Look for a single in the mid-late summer.
Ok..........Im going to head out now.......be back later in the meantime......
READ THIS REVIEW it's insane.... I never studied singing EVER.........This isnt a drum and bass record.....no french man living can pronounce "SHAMMA LAMMA DING DONG" let alone sing it.........but hey.......its an awesome review when its all said and done anyway

The new record drops on April 6th ,2004..."Enter The MOWO!" is it's name.....After a long, long, long, long, long, time away from making my own MOCEAN WORKER albums I have gotten off of the dreaded lameness that was PALM PICTURES . Now its time to have some fun again and get down to making music a little more frequently!
Please stop by often and post anything you want here on my rants/journal page.....
Even if you hate the music....let me know.........
I am going to be going on the road in the not so distant future so i will be letting people know when and where to check out my gigs.
